Ati Manel was originally founded in 1922, bringing the Portuguese tradition of freshly canned seafood to life through the late 1950s. Over 60 years later, artist Luís Mendonça rediscovered his great-grandfather’s weathered canning tools and notes, sparking an idea to bring the family legacy back to the table. As he dug deeper, it became clear that Manel wasn’t just about high-quality local ingredients—it was also about real relationships with fishermen and suppliers. Today, Luís has reimagined those bold, nostalgic flavors with a fresh twist, inviting us all to be part of the Manel story, one tin at a time.
