Over 60 years later, artist Luís Mendonça rediscovered his great-grandfather’s weathered canning tools and notes, sparking an idea to bring the family legacy back to the table. As he dug deeper, it became clear that Manel wasn’t just about high-quality local ingredients—it was also about real relationships with fishermen and suppliers. Today, Luís has reimagined those bold, nostalgic flavors with a fresh twist, inviting us all to be part of the Manel story, one tin at a time.
